This policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile app, related website pages (such as votewithpolls.app), and optional features like our App Clip or iMessage extension.
Who we are
If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us.
Information we collect
We collect information in the following situations:
• Account and profile. If you sign in with Apple or create an account with email, we process identifiers and profile details you provide (such as display name, username, avatar choices, and optional profile fields).
• Content you create. Polls you create, votes you cast, comments or other submissions, and related metadata (for example timestamps).
• Location. If you allow location access, we use it to show nearby polls and improve map-based discovery. You can change this in your device settings.
• Diagnostics and usage. We may receive limited technical data from Apple or our hosting (for example crash logs or aggregated usage) to keep the service reliable and secure.
• Website and links. When you visit pages on votewithpolls.app, standard server or analytics logs may include IP address, browser type, and approximate region.
How we store and process data
Polls relies on Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit to sync and store much of your app data. That means data is processed on Apple’s infrastructure subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy. We do not operate our own database servers for core app data.
Some features (such as the iMessage-related experience) may use Apple’s App Groups or related mechanisms to share limited data between the main app and extensions on your device.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
• Provide, operate, and improve Polls;
• Authenticate you and personalize your experience;
• Show polls and results, including on maps or feeds;
• Enforce our terms, prevent abuse, and protect users;
• Comply with law and respond to valid legal requests.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:
• With Apple and its services (for example iCloud / CloudKit, Sign in with Apple, App Store, TestFlight) as needed to run the app;
• With service providers who help us operate the product (for example hosting or email), under confidentiality obligations;
• When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security;
• In connection with a business transfer (for example a merger), with notice as required by law.
Public and social nature of the product. Content you post in Polls (such as poll titles, options, votes, or comments) may be visible to other users according to how the app works.
Retention
We keep information as long as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may be able to delete certain content in the app; some records may persist in backups for a limited period.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at the email in section 1. You may also use device settings to revoke location, Sign in with Apple, or iCloud permissions.
If you are in the EEA/UK or certain U.S. states, additional rights may apply; we will respond as required by law.
International users
We may process information in the United States and other countries where we or Apple operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your own.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example in the app).
